Being Alive again after being suspended for 17 years. The model, referred to as the latest generation from Daihatsu Rocky, although not yet named, was exhibited at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show at the Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan, October 23, 2019.
From the observation the Daihatsu booth at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019, the latest Rocky was different compared to Rocky known in SEA in the 1990s. The model is modern compact, smaller than the Daihatsu Terios. Another version is, Daihatsu Rocky has a 4x4 drive which is a Daihatsu Taft (F75) derivative.
The latest model information is now being sent to dealers in Japan. On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, the Instagram account @ mr.t.tani posted some photos showing the Daihatsu SUV as exhibited at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show complete with the "ROCKY" emblem on the back to the right.
The 5 seater model has a dimension of length of 3,995mm, width of 1,695mm and height of 1,620mm. Equipped with 996cc engine, water cooler, 3 cylinders in line, 12 valves, DOHC, turbo intercooler. This engine is capable of producing an output of 98PS at 6,000 rpm and torque of 140 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Power from this engine is channeled to the front cog through a CVT transmission (automatic).Interestingly, the trunk of this model is quite extensive by removing the spare tire at the rear. Oh yes, the average new passenger vehicle on display at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019 is not equipped with a spare tire so that luggage space can be maximized.
